MARCA, THE ILIP SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONS: COMPOSTABLE DISPOSABLE TABLEWARE AND RECYCLED PET MEAT TRAYS
ILIP Bio food service range expanded to number more than 100 products. New Sealmaster range also launched, in up to 90% r-Pet
VALSAMOGGIA (BO, XX Novembre 2019) – Up to 90% recycled PET meat trays and compostable disposable tableware: the ILIP innovations unveiled at Marca, the private label trade fair scheduled for the Bologna event held on 15 and 16 January 2020, focus on sustainability (Hall 36 – Stand C23).
The European leader in the processing of plastic raw materials will be revealing its new Sealmaster range of meat trays made from recycled PET (up to 90%) from post consumption. The Sealmaster packaging is designed with careful attention paid to an eco-design; it can be used on current automatic packaging lines. This solution can replace current multiple material packaging with a sustainable, recyclable product, maintaining productivity and sealing performance. The trays also guarantee greater product visibility and optimisation in regard to end consumers.
«The Sealmaster range heads towards the circular economy, because it is created from post-consumption plastic and can be recycled after use – Giovanni Donini, Sales Manager for the ILIP Foodservice and Fresh Food Packaging Business Units explains – it is yet another step in the direction of the closed PET cycle, which we can pursue because we are one of the few companies to have integrated post-consumption PET recycling, thanks to the inclusion in the ILPA Group of the Ferrara AMP, specialised in recycling».
But there is environmentally-friendly news in ILIP disposable tableware too. The entire ILIP BIO line will be on display at Marca, now numbering 108 different products, all of which are compostable or biodegradable thanks to the latest innovations: in addition to plates, cups, cutlery and food packaging created from bioplastics like PLA (polylactic acid that ILIP has been offering since 2002), the range is completed by PLA coupled cardboard cups, plates in pulp or cardboard, wooden cutlery and the new heat-sealable high performance plates suitable for high temperatures made from mater-bi.
But ILIP is not just efficient products suitable for all occasions: the constant dialogue and customer service are amongst the company’s key values. This is why the new ILIP Bio catalogue will be débuting at Marca, providing full information and data to offer a clear overview of disposable tableware available as an alternative to traditional plastic products: the materials and raw materials used, certificates and standards on compostability, the differences between biodegradable and compostable and correct product labelling.
“As manufacturers of disposable tableware, we are today called to offer a complete, versatile range that suits all demands for compostable and biodegradable products” – declares Giovanni Donini, Sales Manager for the ILIP Foodservice Business Unit – “yet we must also provide customers and consumers with complete information to help them make a knowledgeable choice in a field that still requires clarification”.
The ILIP Bio range offers the most advanced solutions in terms of quality and environmental sustainability, whilst guaranteeing the security of compliance with regulations on compostability and contact with food. All ILIP Bio products are certified DINCERTCO, Compostabile CiC and OK compost TÜV Austria. The range includes products in PLA, Mater-Bi, pulp, coupled and uncoupled cardboard and wood.
