ILIP AT FRUIT LOGISTICA 2025: INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY IN PACKAGING WITH A FOCUS ON BERRIES

The Bologna-based company is heading to Berlin with cutting-edge solutions for preserving and protecting fresh produce. Emphasis on circular economy and functional design.

Bologna (28 January 2025) – From 5 to 7 February, ILIP will take centre stage at Fruit Logistica 2025 – the leading international trade fair for the fruit and vegetable sector – at Hall 5.2, stand D-51. The company will showcase top packaging solutions designed to protect delicate produce, enhance preservation, and minimise environmental impact.

The leading company in sustainable packaging for the fresh produce and food sector will shine a spotlight on its range specifically designed for berries. This range includes punnets available in various formats, which can be heat-sealed or equipped with a lid, and configured with or without a pad. These solutions, developed to ensure maximum protection and extend shelf life, adhere to OPRL guidelines, making them perfectly suited to the UK market.

The products on display will include the B40 Air Wave punnet, made from R-PET. Its unique base design ensures excellent shock absorption during transport and in shops, removing the need for absorbent pads like micro-bubbles or cellulose. This year, the Air Wave system has been further developed with the addition of the B46 format, increasing the range’s versatility and meeting new packaging needs.

Since its founding, ILIP has focused on reducing environmental impact through specific programmes and projects across the entire value chain: from raw materials to production facilities and logistics. The group’s commitment to implementing a circular economy will be reflected in the design of stand D-51, located in Hall 5.2. The wall graphics will highlight T2T R-PET®, which stands for “tray to tray” in recycled PET. ILIP is one of the few companies in Europe to have vertically integrated recycling, producing R-PET trays using secondary raw materials derived not only from recycled bottles but also from post-consumer trays to create new food containers.

“Taking part in Fruit Logistica is an important opportunity to highlight our commitment to sustainability and innovation”, says Roberto Zanichelli, Director of Business Development and Marketing at ILIP. “With a capacity of around 60,000 tonnes of post-consumer PET per year, we operate with respect for the environment, using the best available technologies and ensuring efficient use of energy, materials, and natural resources”.

From 5 to 7 February, visitors to Hall 5.2, Stand D-51, will be able to explore all the solutions ILIP offers and learn more about the company’s approach to innovation and sustainability in fresh produce packaging.
