AT FRUITLOGISTICA 2013 ILIP PRESENTS THE r-PET CLOSED LOOP
A booth entirely focused on environmental sustainability for the company, the only one in Europe in the sector of food packaging which controls the entire chain of post-consumer PET recycling.
BAZZANO (6th February, 2013) – The participation at Fruit Logistica 2013, the international fresh produce exhibition which will take place in Berlin from 6th to 8th February (Hall 3.1/D-09), will be marked by sustainability.
ILIP, a leader in the sector of thermoformed plastic food packaging, turned its sustainability efforts into reality in 2012, with the concept of packaging as a tool in the fight against food waste and in the development of the r-PET closed loop.
ILPA srl, the company of which ILIP is the main division, is the only European packaging manufacturer to have vertically integrated the r-PET cycle. Thanks to the recent operation which has led the group to control the AMP plant in Ferrara, the company is now capable of controlling the entire production process for recycled PET, from selection, washing and grinding of the post-consumer PET bottles to the production of r-PET flakes, up to the extrusion and thermoforming of a new food packaging, which can re-enter this virtuous cycle again after use.
The entire process will be included in the graphics of the stand and illustrated in a video broadcast during the event, and which will soon be available on ILPA’s YouTube channel.
The new layout of the stand will also highlight our support to Save Food, a FAO-sponsored initiative whose purpose is to reduce food waste. Food packaging plays a fundamental role in this context, as it protects and helps preserve fresh food.
ILIP will be at Fruit Logistica in Hall 3.1, stand D-09, in the area dedicated to manufacturers of machinery and technologies for the produce supply and value chain chain.
