ILIP AT IPM AND MYPLANT & GARDEN WITH THE NEW R-PET POTHOLDERS LINE FOR SUCCULENTS
The new potholders expand the Hortipack product range for the horticultural sector, offering recycled PET options that help businesses reduce their environmental impact.
Valsamoggia, Bologna (13 January 2025) – ILIP reaffirms its presence in 2025 at two of the main trade fairs for the horticultural industry: IPM Essen in Germany (28-31 January 2025, Hall 3, Stand D69) and My Plant & Garden in Milan Rho (19-21 February 2025, Hall 16P, Stand F20). The company will present HortiPack at both events, featuring a comprehensive selection of professional solutions for the industry. This includes propagation trays, carriers and cells, potholders for transport or cultivation made from both, PS and R-PET, as well as Ø10 cm and Ø14 cm R-PET pots. These thermoformed products are available for both, manual and mechanical handling, depending on the client’s requirements. The Bologna-based company will specifically showcase its new R-PET potholders line for succulents.
The innovative aspect of the Hortipack range lies in its R-PET products, made with a high percentage of recycled PET, reaching up to 80-90%. This approach significantly reduces environmental impact while maintaining the same load capacity and high performance as the PS products. These benefits include seamless integration into production lines, reduced downtime, durability during handling, and optimised packaging efficiency due to easy stacking and unstacking.
Made from post-consumer materials like food packaging and milk bottles made form R-PET, Hortipack products actively contribute to the circular economy. The extrusion process for these coloured plastics results in a grey secondary raw material, with ILIP ensuring full traceability and quality control. As part of the ILPA Group, ILIP oversees the entire process, from post-consumer PET recycling to extrusion and the creation of new products.
The new R-PET potholders for succulents further expand the transport range and are available for pots with diameters from 3.5 to 7.5 cm, with hole counts from 48 for the smaller sizes to 16 for the larger ones. As with other Hortipack potholders, the smoothness of the material optimises palletising, allowing for more units per pallet. These potholders are suitable for automated transplanting lines, ensuring smooth and precise mechanical unstacking.
The Hortipack range includes 6, 8, and 10-cell carriers compatible with a wide variety of cells made from either R-PET or PS.
The R-PET pot range has also expanded, with the addition of a Ø14 cm, 1-litre pot alongside the Ø10 cm version.
The trade fairs will provide an opportunity to personally showcase the features of all the products to industry professionals. At the first event in Germany, IPM Essen, the entire ILIP international sales team will be present. Area managers for Northern/Eastern Europe, the United Kingdom, Southern Europe, the Middle East, and France will be available to offer detailed information on the company’s products and services.
